Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing of NBA Asia, Mike supports the marketing operations for the NBA, including the development of innovative marketing campaigns and brand messaging to connect with fans and grow the game of basketball in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mike has led marketing campaigns and influencer and youth initiatives including the first-ever NBA Filipino Heritage Week, a local on-ground and in-arena activation celebrating Philippine culture and fandom; NBA Stream Squad, digital series on NBA Indonesia and Philippines Facebook pages featuring influencers previewing select playoffs and Finals games; and out-of-home installations promoting select NBA tentpole events.
He has 20 years of experience in marketing including expertise in brand activations, channel marketing and product launches. Prior to joining the NBA, Mike was Asia-Pacific Marketing Lead for Western Union, a global leader in cross-border business payment solutions. He also previously held marketing roles in Nestle Philippines and Del Monte Philippines, leading the launch of several food and beverage products and award-winning campaigns.
Mike graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in Management. He began working for the NBA in 2015 and is based in Hong Kong.
